Treatment and symptoms of GGT 216 U/L | Diet for high Gamma glutamyl transferase level 216 U/L

GGT 216

High GGT level of 216 can cause a number of symptoms.

An abnormal GGT (Gamma-glutamyl transferase) level of 216 may point toward liver dysfunction, alcohol consumption effects, or bile duct obstructions. When GGT is abnormal at 216, symptoms might include fatigue, jaundice, nausea, or abdominal pain. GGT is a sensitive marker for liver and bile duct health and can assist in evaluating conditions such as alcoholic liver disease or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Consistently abnormal values may prompt lifestyle changes or further liver diagnostics. While many treatments can help, your diet should be the first thing you address.

What to do after GGT blood test?

If bleeding occurs after your GGT test, raise your arm and apply pressure to the spot for at least 3 minutes. It’s normal to see some bruising after a GGT blood draw. If you feel pain following the GGT test, apply ice wrapped in a towel to the area for 10 minutes. For anything more than mild discomfort, contact your doctor.
