Treatment and symptoms of LDH 129 U/L | Diet for normal Lactate dehydrogenase level 129 U/L
Normal LDH level of 129 can cause a number of symptoms.
An abnormal LDH (Lactate Dehydrogenase) level of 129 may reflect tissue damage or stress occurring in various organs such as the heart, liver, lungs, or muscles. A value of 129 could indicate conditions like infections, anemia, liver disease, or even cancer. LDH is released when cells are damaged, so elevated or decreased levels often prompt further testing to pinpoint the source. Interpreting LDH in combination with other tests can help guide the diagnosis of internal organ conditions. Many treatments can work, but the most significant change you can make is to adjust your diet right away.

Below are the symptoms and treatments associated with high LDH (Lactate Dehydrogenase) levels:
- Symptoms of High LDH Levels:
- Fatigue or weakness
- Muscle pain or tenderness
- Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)
- Abdominal pain, especially in the upper right quadrant
- Shortness of breath
- Dark-colored urine
- Treatments for High LDH Levels:
- High LDH levels can indicate tissue damage or disease, and treatment will depend on the underlying cause.
- If high LDH levels are caused by **liver disease** (e.g., hepatitis, cirrhosis), treatment may include medications to manage liver function, antiviral therapy (if applicable), and lifestyle changes such as avoiding alcohol.
- If **muscle damage** or **hemolysis** (destruction of red blood cells) is the cause, treatment may involve addressing the underlying condition (e.g., treating anemia or muscle injury), ensuring adequate hydration, and providing supportive care.
- In cases of **heart attack** or **myocardial infarction**, high LDH levels will typically decrease once the damage to the heart tissue is managed. Treatment would focus on medications and interventions to restore heart function and prevent further cardiac events.
- For **cancer** patients, elevated LDH levels may indicate tumor growth or metastasis, and treatment will depend on the type of cancer and the appropriate therapy (chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, etc.).
- If high LDH levels are related to **kidney disease**, such as in cases of kidney failure, treatment may include dialysis, lifestyle changes, and management of the underlying condition (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).

What to do after LDH blood test?
If bleeding occurs after your LDH test, raise your arm and apply pressure to the spot for at least 3 minutes. It’s normal to see some bruising after a LDH blood draw. If you feel pain following the LDH test, apply ice wrapped in a towel to the area for 10 minutes. For anything more than mild discomfort, contact your doctor.
