An abnormal MCHC level of 43.8 may indicate a disruption in the average concentration of hemoglobin in red blood cells, which is crucial for oxygen transport throughout the body. A person with an MCHC level of 43.8 could experience symptoms like fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath, often associated with conditions like anemia or hereditary blood disorders. Abnormal MCHC values can help clinicians understand the quality of red blood cells and are important when investigating chronic fatigue, pallor, or general malaise in patients. What to do after MCHC blood test?
If bleeding occurs after your MCHC test, raise your arm and apply pressure to the spot for at least 3 minutes. It’s normal to see some bruising after a MCHC blood draw. If you feel pain following the MCHC test, apply ice wrapped in a towel to the area for 10 minutes. For anything more than mild discomfort, contact your doctor.
