An abnormal phosphorus level of 2.9 may point to disruptions in kidney function, bone metabolism, or parathyroid activity. What to do after Phosphorus blood test?

If bleeding occurs after your Phosphorus test, raise your arm and apply pressure to the spot for at least 3 minutes. It’s normal to see some bruising after a Phosphorus blood draw. If you feel pain following the Phosphorus test, apply ice wrapped in a towel to the area for 10 minutes. For anything more than mild discomfort, contact your doctor.
