What does high BUN and Creatinine mean in blood test?
High BUN and Creatinine can be caused by numerous problems.
High levels of BUN and Creatinine in the blood indicate a variety of health problems. If your blood BUN level is between 6 mg/dL to 20 mg/dL and the Creatinine level is between 0.9 mg/dL to 1.3 mg/dL, then your body does not have any underlying health problems. But if BUN and Creatinine levels exceed these levels, you should see a doctor immediately.

How is a blood test performed in the lab?
Depending on the symptoms you are experiencing, your doctor may order a BUN and Creatinine test. In most hospitals BUN and Creatinine results can be obtained within three to six hours after blood is taken. The blood is usually drawn from a vein on the inside of the elbow or the back of the hand. Drink plenty of water before your appointment. If you experience any symptoms that you are concerned about are out of the ordinary, call your doctor immediately.
