How Leland Rich treated high mpv?

Note - This article is written by one of our patients about their experiences with high mpv.

Leland Rich here. I recently learned that my mean platelet volume, or MPV, was 12.5, which is high. It all started when I took a much-needed vacation to a stunning tropical location. But in the midst of the heat and leisure, my trip unexpectedly took a turn when I began to feel unsettling sensations and made the decision to consult a doctor.

I could not ignore the constant weariness and frequent headaches that bothered me as I lounged on the sandy beach. Concerned by these signs, I made the decision to get checked out at a nearby clinic. In addition to other tests, the doctor ordered a routine blood test, and I anxiously awaited the findings.

A few days later, the doctor summoned me into his office while wearing a solemn expression. He informed me that I may have underlying health problems because my MPV levels were greater than usual. Although there wasn't a conclusive diagnosis, additional research was required to ascertain the reason for this rise.

I sought the advice of experts, conducted further tests, and sought consultations because I was driven to understand and control my high MPV levels. I was anxious and apprehensive about the process since I was concerned about how it would affect my future and general health.

It was found after several consultations that my increased MPV levels were probably caused by persistent inflammation in my body. The knowledge that the disease might be treated and perhaps even gotten better brought some relief. Addressing the inflammation and reducing its negative effects on platelet formation came next.

I used a comprehensive strategy to control my excessive MPV levels. I drastically altered my eating habits, putting an emphasis on foods that are anti-inflammatory, such fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats. I cut out processed foods and sweetened beverages in favour of wholesome and all-natural alternatives. I also included regular exercise into my schedule by doing things like yoga and swimming.

I looked into natural therapies that were renowned for having anti-inflammatory characteristics to go along with these lifestyle changes. Due to the curcumin in turmeric, I started include it frequently in my meals. I also increased my intake of fatty fish like salmon and started taking fish oil supplements to get more omega-3 fatty acids.

I added stress-reduction methods to my diet in addition to nutritional changes to control inflammation. In order to find some peace despite the difficulties, I engaged in deep breathing techniques and mindfulness meditation. These routines were revolutionary because they put my mental and emotional health first.

These changes eventually had a good effect on my health. My energy levels gradually rose, and the constant headaches started to get better. My MPV levels stabilised and started to improve even though they were still over the usual limit.

High MPV management is still a part of my journey, but I attack it with tenacity and vigour. I've learned from this experience how important it is to pay attention to my body, be proactive in improving my health, and ask friends and family for assistance.

I am appreciative of the lessons I've learnt as a result of this struggle today. It has made me realise how strong the human body is and how much control we have over how our lives turn out. My high MPV levels are no longer a distinguishing characteristic, but rather a symbol of my perseverance and the path I'm still on in pursuit of a healthy future.
