How Douglas Alfaro treated high creatinine?

Note - This article is written by one of our patients about their experiences with high creatinine.

My name is Douglas Alfaro, and when I was a senior in high school, some unsettling news changed the course of my life. My doctor told me that my creatinine levels, which were measured at 1.7, were higher than usual at a checkup. I was shocked to learn that I had this condition because I had always thought of myself as healthy and had not shown any outward signs.

I have a lot of questions regarding the news, including how it may affect my future and how my health. I quickly discovered that it was critical for me to act right away and become knowledgeable about how to treat this illness because elevated creatinine levels are frequently a sign of decreased kidney function.

I decided to educate myself on the subject by reading up on creatinine levels, renal health, and the necessary lifestyle modifications. With the help of education, I was able to take charge of my circumstances and make informed decisions.

Focusing on my diet was one of the first actions I made. I learned that maintaining kidney function depends heavily on eating a good, balanced diet. I drastically altered my diet, consuming less processed food, sodium, and bad fats while increasing the amount of fresh produce, whole grains, and lean proteins in my meals.

My diet had to be adjusted while I was a student, which was difficult given the temptations of fast food and bad snacks. However, I stayed dedicated to maintaining my long-term health and had a lot of help from my family, who supported me in living a healthy lifestyle by encouraging me to make better decisions and even joining me in doing so.

A crucial part of my daily routine also included staying hydrated. I always made sure to have a reusable water bottle with me and drank plenty of water. For the kidneys to operate properly and to clear out toxins, staying hydrated was crucial.

Stress management became yet another essential aspect of my path. Stress was a constant in my life as a student, but I developed effective coping skills. I experimented with meditation, deep breathing techniques, and engaging in hobbies to help me unwind and maintain general wellbeing.

My regimen now included visiting my doctor on a regular basis. These visits gave me the chance to keep an eye on my creatinine levels and make sure my kidney function was constant. They also gave me a chance to speak honestly and openly with my medical staff, giving me the chance to voice any worries or inquiries I had.

High creatinine levels presented issues for me, but I wouldn't let them define who I was. I persisted in working towards my academic objectives and taking part in extracurricular activities with the help of my family and friends. In order to maintain my energy levels and lessen the burden on my kidneys, I learned to pay attention to my body, take pauses when required, and prioritise relaxation.
